Managed to get all my planned tasks done in Palmer – meet with ex to give boxes too, take my Kozy Comforter to the cleaners, straighten out the mess at bank, buy more Market Spice Tea, pick up certified papers at law office, dropped off the big bag of clothes (to Bishop’s Attic – a long time favorite thrift store. ) and grocery shop – the afternoon we arrived in Palmer. Then yesterday, got lab work done, and then went to Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage to have them help me get Survivor Benefits Plan stopped. Was going to stop the night at FamCamp there at Elmendorf, but finished early enough to head on out.
Got thru Anchorage, headed on down the Seward Highway and about 2 miles from the Girdwood turn off, I stopped to take a 20 minute nap. Awaken refreshed and ready to go, but stayed a little longer when I realized I was seeing a Bore Tide come by. I did not take a picture, as it would not have done it justice. But was really thrilled to see it in person. And wow, I knew the tide moved in quickly here, but to see it with my own eyes was quite simply impressive.
Headed on down the road, thinking I would stop the day at the Turnagain rest area, but it has been turned into a construction zone, so kept moving on. The sun is still high overhead and its approaching 6:30 in the evening, so just pushed on thru. I headed toward my friends in Sterling, managed to arrive in time to be taken to the Elks club for dinner, then crashed when we got back to the house. Wonderfully cool night for sleeping.
This morning, awakened to the sight of 3 alpacas resting on the lawn… have no clue what is in store for the day, but its great to see my friends.
